The Serpentine Pavilion | Francis Kere
designed by Francis Kéré in 2017. The architecture of The Serpentine Pavilion was inspired by a tree under which people in his home town of Gando, Burkina Faso would meet.
The wooden roof mimicking the canopy of the tree letting dappled light through while protecting people from the great British weather.
The geometric shapes encasing the structure form a bark like pattern while allowing air to circulate freely through the shelter.
